He married his first love, whom he met in high school, and has a harmonious family with three children. Because of this, he earned nicknames like ″Nation’s Lover″ and ″Nation’s Husband.″ However, Cha Tae-hyun explained that this ″lover″ image was created because the actions he took for himself were known to be for his wife, and he said he dislikes this nickname. In fact, the lyricist is listed as ″Geomok″ on the song information on portal sites. Cha Tae-hyun married his first love, Choi Seok-eun, in 2006 after 13 years of dating, and they have one son and two daughters.
