(G)I-DLE's So-yeon releases first solo full-length album 'A Life Worth Living' after 5 years and 2 months

Soyeon of the group (G)I-DLE released her first solo full-length album, ″A Breathtaking Life,″ on the 7th at 6 p.m. through various music platforms. This album marks Soyeon’s first solo release in about 5 years and 2 months and includes eight tracks spanning various genres such as rock, hyperpop, disco, and band sounds. The title track, ″I Quit (Narr. Kian84),″ is based on an analog band sound and cleverly explores the theme of ″quitting a job,″ which resonates with office workers. The lyrics, written by Soyeon herself, represent the feelings of workers tired of reality, beginning with ″I quit. There’s nothing to miss,″ and ending with imagining enjoying life after quitting. The song features narration by Kian84, creating a cheerful atmosphere. The released music video depicts Soyeon enjoying freedom after escaping the office. Actor Sunwoo Yong-yeo made a surprise appearance, drawing attention, and the final scene shows Soyeon as an elderly woman, leaving a lasting impression. In addition to the title track, the album includes a total of eight songs: ″Bankroll,″ ″icebluerabbit,″ ″STAR,″ ″I Hate Vegetables Song,″ ″Amigo,″ ″Can’t We Just Love,″ and ″Sending Romance.″ Soyeon participated in the production of all tracks, giving each a different mood and character. Notably, ″icebluerabbit″ was pre-released during (G)I-DLE’s world tour and shows that Soyeon also works under the producer name ″icebluerabbit.″ Through this album, Soyeon showcased new sides of herself and experimented with various genres that she had not shown before. She stated, ″I think this is a story that not only office workers but everyone can relate to. While a stable future is important, I wanted to convey the message that I hope people can be happy in the present moment. My goal for this promotion is to deliver good music to many people.″
