IU donated a total of 200 million KRW to mark the 18th anniversary of their debut. Idam Entertainment announced on the 18th that IU donated 50 million KRW each to four organizations—the Korea Social Welfare Council, Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital, Heart-Heart Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity Korea—under the name ″IUana,″ a combination of their name and fandom name ″U-Aena.″ The donations will be used to support young adults preparing for independence, rehabilitation treatment for children and adolescents facing economic difficulties, livelihood, education, and mental health support for young women preparing for independence, and improving housing conditions for national veterans. IU has consistently donated under the name ″IUana″ on special occasions such as debut anniversaries, birthdays, and year-end holidays. This year, they donated 100 million KRW for children and adolescents on Children’s Day and 300 million KRW on their birthday, May 16. Their cumulative donations since 2009 are reported to exceed 6 billion KRW. IU debuted on September 18, 2008, with the single ″Mia″ through Mnet.
