BTS embarks on a tour of five South American cities in October... Selected as an 'Honorary Guest' and live viewing included

BTS is gearing up for their South America tour in October, with cities across the continent intensifying preparations for the concerts. In Bogotá, Colombia, BTS’s concert has been introduced as a major cultural event in the city. The official tourism website operated by the Bogotá Tourism Office, Visit Bogotá, presented the BTS concert as a large-scale event and cultural occasion. The site described, ″BTS is one of the representative groups of 21st-century global pop, based on music, large-scale performances, and a strong bond with the worldwide ARMY (fanbase),″ adding that this visit has positioned Bogotá as one of the world’s major music stages by 2026. In La Plata, Argentina, the local government and concert producers are preparing to welcome the audience. BTS will perform in La Plata on October 21 and 23–24. Local media El Día cited estimates from La Plata city, predicting that over 150,000 people will visit the city for the concerts. Accordingly, Julio Alak, mayor of La Plata, discussed on-site operational plans with concert producers and security and urban control officials from Buenos Aires Province and La Plata city. Mayor Alak stated, ″We are preparing to welcome visitors in the best possible way to enjoy this world-class event.″ Additionally, the La Plata City Council unanimously passed a motion in their regular July meeting to designate BTS as ’honorary guests.’ In Lima, Peru, a K-pop event was organized. Local media El Comercio introduced the ’Road to 7: El Comienzo’ event prepared by Lima city. The event was held on October 12–13 at the Fountain Park in Lima and featured K-pop dance covers, video screenings, and various cultural programs. In Chile, BTS’s concert is also being promoted as a major cultural and tourism event. The official tourism promotion site Chile Travel introduced the Santiago concert as a key event in the ’Festivals and Events – Culture and Heritage’ category. Chile Travel stated, ″The global K-pop wave is landing in Chile. Santiago will transform into the global center of K-pop with the return of BTS.″ BTS will start their South America tour on October 2 with the concert in Bogotá, Colombia. They will then perform a total of 14 shows across five cities: Lima, Peru; Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and São Paulo, Brazil. In Colombia, Peru, and Argentina, BTS will hold their first full-group concerts. The concerts on this tour will also be available in movie theaters. The third-day concert on October 24 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the second-day concert on October 30 in São Paulo, Brazil, will be broadcast live in theaters. Live viewing is a method of watching concert scenes in real time or via broadcast in theaters equipped with large screens and sound systems. This South America concert live viewing will be held in about 3,800 theaters across more than 80 countries and regions worldwide, and in South Korea, it will be available through the three major multiplex chains: CGV, Lotte Cinema, and Megabox. Meanwhile, BTS previously attracted 1.92 million spectators with 31 shows in 12 locations during their North America tour, achieving record-high sales and ranking among the top for audience numbers.
