KEYVITUP, the first boy group produced by Kim Jaejoong, is preparing for its first comeback in November.
iNKODE Entertainment confirmed that the five-member group is currently working on a new album, approximately six months after releasing its self-titled debut EP in April.
The return will be an important test for KEYVITUP. A debut introduces a group’s potential, but the first comeback often determines whether initial curiosity can develop into a recognizable musical identity and a stable fandom.
KEYVITUP will enter that stage with more international experience than it had at debut. Since April, the group has performed at KCON LA, entered the Top 20 of the U.S. YouTube Shorts chart and secured invitations to activities outside the conventional rookie promotion circuit.

KEYVITUP officially debuted on April 8 with members Hyunmin, Taehwan, Sena, Jaein and Rukia.
The group’s name combines “KEY,” “VIT,” taken from “vital,” and “UP,” representing upward movement. According to iNKODE, the name expresses the group’s goal of opening the door to the world and delivering new energy.
Its first EP introduced that ambition through the double title tracks “KEYVITUP” and “LEGENDARY.” Both songs presented the group through confident lyrics, performance-centered production and a hip visual identity.
The members also participated in writing the two title tracks, giving them an early role in shaping how the group would be introduced to listeners.
For the November album, repeating the debut formula will not be enough. KEYVITUP must show which elements of its initial sound belong at the center of its long-term identity.
That makes this comeback less about proving that the group can return quickly and more about demonstrating growth without losing the confidence that defined its debut.
KEYVITUP began building its overseas profile only months after debut.
The group traveled to the United States for KCON LA 2026 and participated in promotional activities surrounding the event. During that period, its debut title track “KEYVITUP” entered the Top 20 of the U.S. YouTube Shorts chart.
The result was notable for a group that had debuted only four months earlier. The song competed for attention on a chart shaped by short-form video use, where repetition, recognizable choreography and immediate musical impact can help a track spread beyond an established fandom.
KEYVITUP also reached No. 1 on the U.S. iTunes K-pop music video chart and topped Amazon Music’s Best Seller Songs and Hot New Releases Songs rankings, according to reports released during its American promotions.
These achievements do not guarantee long-term popularity in the United States. They do, however, show that the group has already created points of entry for overseas listeners.
The November comeback will reveal whether KEYVITUP can convert those brief chart appearances into sustained interest around a second album.

KEYVITUP attracted immediate attention as the first boy group produced by Kim Jaejoong.
Jaejoong brings more than two decades of experience as an idol, vocalist, songwriter and international performer. His career across Korea and Japan gives him direct knowledge of the pressures facing young artists as they attempt to build careers in several markets at once.
That experience can provide KEYVITUP with valuable guidance in areas including vocal performance, stage presentation and overseas promotion.
His name also creates expectations.
Listeners may initially discover KEYVITUP because of Jaejoong’s involvement, but the group cannot depend indefinitely on being introduced as “Kim Jaejoong’s boy group.” Its music, members and performances must eventually become the primary reason audiences remain interested.
The members’ participation in their debut title tracks was therefore significant. It suggested that iNKODE intends to develop KEYVITUP as a group with its own creative voice rather than only as an extension of its producer’s reputation.
The next album will be the clearest opportunity to show how much that voice has developed.
Before returning with new music, KEYVITUP is scheduled to attend Milan Fashion Week on September 24.
The appearance is unusual for a rookie group that debuted earlier this year. Milan Fashion Week’s Spring/Summer 2027 schedule runs from September 22 to 28 and includes major global fashion houses, presentations and industry events.
K-pop groups increasingly use fashion events to reach audiences who may not encounter them through Korean music broadcasts. A strong fashion appearance can generate international media coverage, social content and individual member recognition before an album campaign begins.
For KEYVITUP, the Milan schedule also helps establish a broader visual identity ahead of November. The group’s debut leaned heavily into confident styling and performance, making fashion a natural extension of its image.
The value of the appearance will depend on how effectively it connects to the group’s comeback rather than remaining an isolated event.
KEYVITUP has already completed several milestones expected from a promising rookie group.
It launched with a clearly defined concept, promoted two title tracks, performed at KCON LA, appeared on U.S. digital charts and secured a Milan Fashion Week schedule.
The next challenge is continuity.
A strong first comeback should give existing fans a reason to stay while introducing a song accessible enough to attract listeners who missed the debut. It should also reveal more of the members’ individual strengths without weakening the group’s collective identity.
KEYVITUP does not need to abandon the confident sound of its first EP. It needs to deepen it.
If the November release can combine the members’ creative participation, Jaejoong’s production experience and the international visibility accumulated over the past six months, KEYVITUP could move beyond the label of a promising rookie.
The debut opened the door. The first comeback will show whether KEYVITUP is ready to walk through it.
