BTS to start 14 performances in 5 South American cities beginning in Bogotá, Colombia in October

BTS is preparing for their South America tour in October, with each host city making various arrangements to accommodate the large influx of audiences. The South America tour will begin on October 2 in Bogotá, Colombia, and will include a total of 14 performances across five cities: Lima, Peru; Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and São Paulo, Brazil. Notably, in Colombia, Peru, and Argentina, BTS will perform as the full seven-member group for the first time since their debut. In La Plata, Argentina, the city, provincial government, and production company are collaborating to prepare for the performances on October 21 and 23–24. Local media El Día cited estimates from La Plata city, predicting that over 150,000 people will visit the city, including audiences from abroad such as the United States, Chile, and Uruguay. Accordingly, Mayor Julio Alak discussed on-site operation plans with security, city control departments, and the production company. The La Plata City Council unanimously passed a motion at the July regular meeting to designate BTS as ″honorary guests,″ with Big Hit Music citing the members’ cultural influence, promotion of youth rights, and international activities as reasons for the selection. In Lima, Peru, a K-pop cultural event was held at the popular nighttime tourist spot, the Fountain Park, on October 12–13. Named ″Road to Seven,″ the event featured dance covers, video screenings, and various cultural programs. Santiago, Chile, also introduced the BTS concert as a major event in the ″Festivals and Events – Culture & Heritage″ category on the official tourism promotion site Chile Travel. Chile Travel stated, ″The global K-pop wave is landing in Chile. Santiago will transform into the global center of K-pop with the return of BTS.″ In Bogotá, Colombia, the official tourism site operated by the tourism office, Visit Bogotá, promoted the BTS concert as a major cultural event. The site described BTS as ″one of the leading groups representing 21st-century global pop, based on music, large-scale performances, and a strong bond with ARMY worldwide.″ It added that this concert has established Bogotá as one of the world’s major music stages. Some performances on this tour will also be broadcast live in movie theaters. The third day of the Buenos Aires concert on October 24 and the second day of the São Paulo concert on October 30 will be screened in about 3,800 theaters across more than 80 countries worldwide. In South Korea, the concerts can be viewed at CGV, Lotte Cinema, and Megabox. Previously, BTS attracted 1.92 million attendees with 31 performances across 12 locations during their North America tour.
