BTS and National Museum Foundation Collaboration '2026 Dalmajoong' Released on the 29th... Contains Korean Traditional Beauty and Message of the 5th Regular Album

HYBE and the National Museum Cultural Foundation present a new lineup of the official BTS merchandise series ’DALMAJUNG’ through their second collaboration. On the 22nd, HYBE announced that the ’2026 BTS DALMAJUNG [DALMAJUNG] Merch.’, created in partnership with the National Museum Cultural Foundation, will be released on the 29th, with a pop-up store also operating at the HYBE Yongsan headquarters. This series was developed by combining the message of BTS’s fifth full album ’ARIRANG’ and elements of the Joseon Dynasty folk painting ’Munjado.’ DALMAJUNG, now in its fourth series since its first release in 2021, is an official merchandise line that embodies the beauty of traditional Korean culture and the brand value of BTS. In 2022, it established itself as a brand with unique products reflecting BTS’s identity and Korea’s indigenous heritage. In 2024, through collaboration with the National Museum merchandise brand ’MU:DS,’ it introduced products that modernly reinterpret traditional cultural heritage such as the Bangasayusang and white porcelain moon jars. The 2026 DALMAJUNG merchandise uses the traditional meaning of Munjado (folk paintings with pictures inside or around the strokes of characters from the Joseon Dynasty) and the lyrics ’If ill fortune, then great fortune (凶則大吉)’ from BTS’s song ’Aliens’ as the main motif. A representative explained that the merchandise was planned to wish for happiness, luck, and a better daily life and peaceful living by connecting the traditional meanings of happiness, filial piety, and longevity contained in Munjado. A representative from HYBE IPX Business Division said, ″The DALMAJUNG series, loved worldwide for embodying Korean traditional beauty and BTS’s brand value, now presents products that contain Korean values and beauty more than ever through the album ’ARIRANG’ and the National Museum Cultural Foundation.″ They added, ″By modernly reinterpreting the Confucian themes contained in ’Munjado’ and linking them with the messages in BTS’s lyrics, these products will allow people to newly experience the value of our cultural heritage and the musical messages conveyed by the artist.″ Jung Yong-seok, president of the National Museum Cultural Foundation, said, ″Following the meaningful success of the ’DALMAJUNG’ series launched in 2024 through our first collaboration with HYBE, which introduced the beauty and excellence of Korean cultural heritage overseas, we have continued our partnership this year.″ He added, ″We will actively seek opportunities where the artist’s brand value and the value of our cultural heritage can shine together.″
