The new Saturday-Sunday drama ″100 Days of Lies,″ presented by tvN as a special project for its 20th anniversary, will premiere on October 10 at 9:10 PM. This work is a collaboration between director Yoo In-sik and writer Ryu Bo-ri, featuring actors Kim Yoo-jung, Park Jin Young, Kim Hyun-joo, Lee Moo-saeng, Jin Sun-kyu, and others. Director Yoo In-sik, who led the hits with the ″Romantic Doctor Kim Sa-bu″ series and ″Extraordinary Attorney Woo,″ directed the drama. The ″Romantic Doctor Kim Sa-bu″ series recorded a peak viewership rating of 27.6%. The script was written by Ryu Bo-ri, who has delicately portrayed characters’ emotional lines in works such as ″Do You Like Brahms?″ Ryu Bo-ri described this work as a drama about love in a dark era. She also revealed that it started from the imagination that the independence army planted spies directly within the Japanese Governor-General’s office. Set in Gyeongseong in 1932, the story depicts a 100-day espionage romance between Lee Ga-kyung (Kim Yoo-jung), the best pickpocket in Gyeongseong who becomes a spy, and Sato Hideo (Park Jin Young), an elite interpreter of the Japanese Governor-General’s office. The drama is characterized by dealing not only with the surface of words but also with the hidden truths, lies, and secrets through the theme of ″interpretation.″ Kim Yoo-jung plays Lee Ga-kyung, who transforms from Gyeongseong’s top pickpocket into an independence army spy, showcasing sly lies and sharp judgment. Park Jin Young portrays Sato Hideo, an elite interpreter of the Japanese Governor-General’s office, acting out a relationship where two individuals with different goals meet at the enemy’s heart, building tension, suspicion, and indescribable emotions. The released character posters include the phrases ″It was a 100-day lie. Until it becomes true″ for Lee Ga-kyung and ″Even though I knew it was a lie, I kept wanting to believe it″ for Sato Hideo. Writer Ryu Bo-ri stated that Kim Yoo-jung is an actress who will bring the character to life attractively and highly praised the sincerity felt in Park Jin Young’s eyes and voice. Additionally, Kim Hyun-joo appears as Yoo So-ran, a sniper of the National Salvation Corps; Lee Moo-saeng plays Philip Yoo, a Korean-American correspondent; and Jin Sun-kyu takes on the role of Sato Shinichi, the Political Affairs Chief of the Japanese Governor-General’s office, an ambitious man who will do anything for success and advancement and appears as the number one target of the National Salvation Corps. At the script reading session, Jin Sun-kyu was praised for instantly creating the character’s atmosphere with his cold gaze and chilly tone. The recently released character posters depict Lee Ga-kyung, Sato Hideo, Yoo So-ran, Philip Yoo, and Sato Shinichi aiming at each other, each harboring their own secrets and goals.
