'Love Doctor' Premiere... Choo Young-Woo·Kim So-hyun, The Beginning of Youth Met on a Bus

ENA Monday-Tuesday drama ’Love Doctor’ announced the beginning of a youthful romance by depicting the first meeting between Park Min-jae (Choo Young-Woo) and Lim Yoo-jin (Kim So-hyun) in its premiere on the 5th. ’Love Doctor’ centers on Park Min-jae, a doctoral student who was a high school swimmer but lost one leg due to illness, and Lim Yoo-jin, a master’s student in clothing studies who lost her career path and wandered before finding a new direction. The story unfolds around their meeting in a robotics lab, where they share love and daily life, gradually building awkward and honest feelings. In the first episode, the two strangers coincidentally meet on a bus and end up going together to the police station, beginning a mysterious connection. Park Min-jae notices Lim Yoo-jin dozing off on her way to school, kindly offers a handkerchief for her injured knee after she falls, and fixes her broken shoe heel. Later, Lim Yoo-jin cannot take her eyes off Park Min-jae until he gets off. They meet again at a thank-you party hosted by Professor Kang Mi-ran (Ryu Kyung-in) from the clothing department. Lim Yoo-jin gets involved in a commotion while trying to protect a friend, and Park Min-jae accompanies her to the police station as a witness. When Park Min-jae testifies that he did not directly witness the incident, Lim Yoo-jin expresses her frustration. Professor Kang Mi-ran urges them not to escalate the matter, but Lim Yoo-jin refuses to accept this, stating she has no intention to apologize and even gives up her chance to enter graduate school before leaving. Afterward, Lim Yoo-jin decides to give up on her dream of clothing studies, but Park Min-jae contacts her saying he will check the audio data from the serving robot present at the party. Although there is no significant result, Lim Yoo-jin feels grateful for Park Min-jae’s effort. Park Min-jae tells her to forget the bad things and make a fresh start, sharing about his major in mechanical engineering. Their conversation continues even after Lim Yoo-jin boards the bus, and Park Min-jae conveys a line from a comic: ″I like you. Very, very much.″ Park Min-jae puts an end to a long-standing crush and, following advice from his lab colleagues, sets a new bucket list item: ’to date.’ However, he gives up on this when his friend Cha Seo-hyun (Han Do-i) appears with a man she likes. ’Love Doctor’ is directed by Ahn Pan-seok and written by screenwriter Min Hyo-jung.
