Seungri from Big Bang registers marriage with a non-celebrity woman... "Legally a married couple"

Seungri (real name Lee Seung-hyun), formerly of the group Big Bang, has legally become husband and wife after registering his marriage with a non-celebrity woman in her 20s. Seungri’s wife is currently pregnant and is expected to give birth in January next year. In a recent interview with Ilgan Sports, Seungri directly stated, ″My wife and I are, of course, legally married, and the claim that ’we got married because of the pregnancy’ is not true.″ Regarding wedding plans, he said, ″At this time, we are not considering holding a wedding ceremony.″ It is known that the two are currently focusing on preparing for the birth. Earlier on the 27th, Gray News reported that Seungri’s non-celebrity girlfriend in her 20s is expecting a baby in January next year. Although there were rumors of a premarital pregnancy, Seungri denied the allegations, emphasizing that they are legally married. Seungri said, ″Now that I am responsible for a family, I feel a heavier sense of responsibility,″ and added, ″I deeply reflect on the disappointment and hurt caused by my past mistakes, and I will show a changed self through a quiet and sincere life.″ He continued, ″I would appreciate it if you warmly watch over my future life,″ and requested, ″Since family members are not public figures, please refrain from excessive interest and speculation.″ Meanwhile, in August, Seungri was accused of assaulting and threatening a man in his 30s at a restaurant in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The accuser claimed to have been assaulted and threatened by Seungri and his party. Seungri’s side denies the allegations. Yoon Jae-bin, a lawyer from the law firm Surim representing Seungri, stated, ″Seungri never swung a soju bottle at anyone or used it to strike someone, nor did he say he would harm anyone by mobilizing organized crime.″ He also said, ″It is true that Seungri, in a heated moment, picked up a soju bottle from the table,″ but maintained that he did not assault or threaten the other party. Seungri’s side has submitted related materials to the investigative authorities and said they will cooperate with the investigation. Seungri debuted with Big Bang in 2006 and left the group in 2019 following the ’Burning Sun scandal.’ He was sentenced to one year and six months in prison on nine charges, including procuring prostitution and habitual gambling, served his sentence, and was released in February 2023.
