Kim Dong Hyun planned a trip to Jeju Island with his two daughters but ultimately gave up on the trip due to issues with the airline tickets and was unable to get a refund of 320,000 won for the accommodation deposit. After the birth of their fourth child, Kim Dong Hyun spontaneously prepared a trip to Jeju to give his wife a break, taking their two daughters along. Following his daughter’s request to board a plane, he decided on a one-night, two-day trip and, after leaving home, booked airline tickets and accommodation for about 20,000 to 30,000 won and 320,000 won respectively while in a taxi. However, upon arriving at the airport, he found that all return flights to Seoul the next day were sold out. He also checked ferry options and flights via Shanghai, China, but could not find a suitable alternative. As a result, Kim Dong Hyun gave up on the Jeju flight just before boarding and apologized to his daughters, saying, ″I’m sorry. I should have checked earlier.″ His daughter, who had been looking forward to the flight, shed tears. During this process, Kim Dong Hyun stated, ″The plane ticket was 30,000 won, but about 20,000 won was refunded,″ and that the 320,000 won hotel deposit was non-refundable because the check-in time had passed on the day. After canceling the trip, Kim Dong Hyun went to Lotte World with his two daughters and spent time at the amusement park and hotel to ease their disappointment. He said, ″I’ve never made a mistake like this before.″ Meanwhile, it was also reported that Kim Dong Hyun recently purchased an apartment in Shinhyundai 12th Complex, Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, for 10 billion won. About 5 billion won of the purchase price was reportedly arranged through ’seller financing,’ borrowing from the previous owners.
