In the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar Korea, Byeon graces the cover in collaboration with Italian luxury brand Prada. The pictorial, shot on location in Milan, features the actor wearing pieces from Prada’s 2026 Spring/Summer collection, blending refined tailoring with a quiet intensity that mirrors his evolving public image.

But behind the polished visuals, Byeon spoke honestly about the pressure that comes with growing popularity.

“I Worry About Not Meeting Expectations”

With two highly anticipated projects MBC’s ‘The 21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife’ and the live-action adaptation of ‘Solo Leveling’ set for release, Byun acknowledged feeling both grateful and burdened. “I believe the love I receive naturally brings higher expectations,” he said. “I worry that I might not be able to fully meet those expectations. But that kind of fear also pushes me to work harder.”

The actor has seen a dramatic rise in global recognition over the past year, and his upcoming roles are expected to further cement his position as one of Korea’s leading next-generation stars.

Acting as a Discipline

Byun also reflected on his acting philosophy, emphasizing effort and preparation as the foundation of his craft. “I don’t think there’s ever a moment when you can say you’ve ‘done well’ in acting,” he admitted. “Effort may not be everything, but I believe it’s most of it.”

He added that repeatedly studying scripts and deeply analyzing characters helps him feel more at ease once filming begins. “After going through that long period of thinking and research, I can stand in front of the camera more freely.”

Milan, Prada, and a New Chapter

Speaking about filming in Milan, Byeon described the city as having a unique rhythm and energy. He noted that Prada’s restrained yet tense aesthetic aligned naturally with his own mood for the shoot.

As anticipation builds for his upcoming dramas, Byeon Woo-seok appears both aware of and grounded by the spotlight. Rather than shying away from pressure, he seems determined to grow through it one role at a time.
