BTS 'IDOL' music video surpasses 1.4 billion views... fifth milestone achieved

BTS’s music video for ″IDOL″ has surpassed 1.4 billion cumulative views, marking the team’s fifth music video to reach 1.4 billion views. BigHit Music announced on the 30th that the ″IDOL″ music video exceeded 1.4 billion views around 9:20 PM on the 29th. With this, BTS has five music videos that have reached 1.4 billion views, following ″Dynamite,″ ″Boy With Luv (Feat. Halsey),″ ″DNA,″ and the ″MIC Drop″ remix. ″IDOL″ is the title track of the repackaged album LOVE YOURSELF 結 ’Answer,’ released in August 2018. The music video features a vibrant set combining Korean elements such as tropical savanna, Bukcheong lion dance, traditional architectural styles, and modern graphics, capturing a festive atmosphere. The choreography blends African traditional dance Guaraguara with Korean traditional dance, Samulnori, and mask dance. Musically, South African beats are combined with Korean traditional rhythms, vocal exclamations, and traditional sounds, creating a harmonious fusion of diverse elements. Upon release, ″IDOL″ ranked 11th on the US Billboard Hot 100 and 21st on the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100. It also won the ″Music Video of the Year″ award at the 2018 E! People’s Choice Awards. Meanwhile, BTS is currently on the world tour ″ARIRANG″ and is scheduled to continue performances at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on the 1st and 2nd of next month.
