The Badminton Korea Association has officially begun nurturing domestic badminton prospects in preparation for 2026. Recently, the association successfully conducted the third domestic training session of the ’2026 Preliminary National Team Development Project,’ focusing on improving the skills of the next generation of national team players. This training, supported by the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, emphasizes the systematic discovery and development of future national team talents. It is designed to allow trainees to enhance their on-site experience by training alongside current national team players. An association official stated, ″This provides promising players with the opportunity to directly experience the playing styles and strategies of their seniors, thereby improving their practical skills.″ Meanwhile, the ’2026 Youth National Team Training Camp’ is being held in the Cheongsong area of Gyeongbuk Province, which is emerging as a key training site for cultivating the next generation of badminton national team players. Under close cooperation between Cheongsong County and the association, state-of-the-art training facilities and environments have been established to increase players’ training focus. In addition, the ’2026 Victor Korea Masters,’ one of the top domestic badminton tournaments, is soon to be held, which is expected to greatly aid preliminary national team and youth national team players in assessing their performance and gaining experience. The Korea Masters is a tournament featuring world-class players and serves as an important stage for strengthening the international competitiveness of domestic players. Through these various training sessions and tournament participations, the Badminton Korea Association plans to establish a stable foundation for the future national team players’ growth and further enhance the competitiveness of Korean badminton.
