Ourverse Day releases first single 'Our Birthday' today...7-member multinational rookie debut

Rookie girl group OURBIRTHDAY held a showcase on the 19th at Blue Square Our WON Banking Hall in Hannam-dong, Seoul, to announce their first single, ″Our Birthday.″ OURBIRTHDAY is a seven-member group consisting of Guk Chorok, Kirara, Baby, Jo Hyejin, Yu, Shin Hyewon, and Achiraya, bringing together members from four countries: Korea (Guk Chorok, Shin Hyewon, Jo Hyejin), Japan (Yu, Kirara), Thailand (Achiraya), and Taiwan (Baby). They are a rookie girl group introduced by Init Entertainment, a label under JYP Entertainment, for the first time in four years since NMIXX. At the showcase, OURBIRTHDAY introduced their unique genre called ″WHIP-HOP.″ They explained that ″WHIP-HOP″ is a genre combining a cool hip-hop performance with ″WHIPPED,″ which mixes a free vibe like cake’s whipped cream and the members’ personalities. Guk Chorok described, ″’WHIP-HOP’ is our own unique genre. It’s sweet yet kitschy, intense yet hip,″ while Shin Hyewon said, ″We combined the free vibe and our personalities like whipped cream in ’WHIP’ with cool, trendy, and intense ’hip-hop.’ Different charms come together to create our own distinctive atmosphere.″ The title track ″SQUEEZY″ is a punk-based dance song carrying a message to shake off complicated emotions and stress. OURBIRTHDAY infused the stage with a free-spirited atmosphere, energetic group choreography, and the unique charms of each member. Jo Hyejin appeared on Mnet’s ″Street Dance Girls Fighter 2″ in 2023 and won KBS2’s ″The Ddanddara″ in January 2025. Shin Hyewon showcased her all-rounder skills on JTBC’s ″Are You Next″ in 2023, and Yu also placed third in ″The Ddanddara.″ OURBIRTHDAY expressed their determination, saying, ″Through our signature ’WHIP-HOP,’ we will show our unique personalities and performances and carve our own path,″ and ″We want to show ourselves to more people on more stages and be remembered by our name itself.
